What is osteopathic medicine?
A holistic and logical approach to health and wellness.
Osteopathic medicine is a form of medical practice that focuses on looking at the whole person to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness. Osteopaths prescribe medications and surgery just like non-osteopaths. However, their mindset is focused on the whole system instead of individual symptoms. Come to our meetings to learn more about the methods that osteopaths practice!
Is osteopathy for me?
Yes!
No matter what field you aspire to have a career in, osteopathic training and education can apply. Future doctors, veterinarians, physical therapists, nurses, or anyone else can benefit from the belief that the body works as a whole and must be treated as such.

Hi! I’m Anna, and I’m a senior studying Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Spanish. I’m originally from Tempe, Arizona, and I love running, skiing, and anything else that involves the outdoors! I work in a research lab at the Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology Lab (ARBL), located at the CSU Foothills Campus. I would like to go to DO school after I graduate and specialize in obstetrics and gynecology or family medicine. Hi guys, my name is Trista and I’m the Membership and Outreach Director for Pre-SOMA. I’m a senior here at CSU and I’m from Denver but my heart belongs in FoCo. My dream has always been to go to medical school, which is now more narrowed down to an osteopathic school. I’ve spent my last two years at CSU getting involved, mainly through volunteer work. I volunteer in the emergency department at MCR in Loveland and I am currently planning CSU’s very first medically focused spring break trip, so definitely get in contact with me if you are interested in learning more! I recently got my phlebotomy license to start gaining my hands on experience. I work in a chemistry research lab and have gained some great experience.

Hello, my name is Mitchell London. I am a senior at CSU, majoring in biology and minoring in business. I plan on attending vet school at CSU with the goal of getting into the combined DVM/MBA program CSU offers. I am not entirely sure what I want to do after obtaining a DVM, private practice? Surgeon? Specialist? I learned about osteopathic medicine from the President Anna Jacobs last semester. The first thing I learned is that this philosophy of medicine can be applied to all creatures, and I am very excited to learn more about it! My hobbies include sports and playing games on the computer I built. I also love all the animals that I own: two Boston terriers, a bunny, two birds, a lizard, and an assortment of goldfish. I can quote comedy films like you would not believe! I can talk to you about sports, movies, video games, my animals, and veterinary medicine as much as you would like!
